Description

As of 10.10, it seems that display settings are no longer saved, or at least aren't doing so successfully on my laptop. This results in me needing to adjust the resolution of my external display every time it is used (4k TV I run at 1080p).

Budgie version

budgie-desktop 10.10.1 (git-32c414900061ea501b2866f934dbd6893e99d0e6)

Operating System

Arch Linux

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Open budgie-control-center and navigate to the Introduction tab
  2. Open the displays menu
  3. Change the settings of one display
  4. Unplug the configured display, then replug it

Actual result

Previously set display settings are lost

Expected result

Previously set display settings are preserved

Additional information

No response

However, upon relaunching Budgie it is running, and appears to crash the moment I connect my second display.

However, upon relaunching Budgie it _is_ running, and appears to crash the moment I connect my second display.

Please install the debug symbols for your budgie-desktop-services package. Then do a gdb backtrace on your crash file.

This is distro specific so I can't help with the arch instructions here.

I'm unsure a) where that package is and b) where the crash file is?

What may be related is I tried relogging again with the display connected and now an running into this upon trying to start Budgie:
