xdg-desktop-portal-mdi

This project offers a xdg-desktop-portal backend for Wayland compositors using standard protocols.

Introduction

Many Wayland compositors implement a standard set of Wayland protocols to offer integration for desktops to offer privileged functionality, but lack an xdg-desktop-portal backend to expose this functionality to applications that use the portal interface instead.

This project aims to provide a common subset of desktop-agnostic portals that can be combined with desktop-specific portals to provide complete coverage to applications that use the portal API to interact with system interfaces.
